The Children are restless. The latest events and attacks have set everyone's nerves on edge – and a miscalculated step may be enough to shatter the fragile truce between the tribes.
The Cigarettes captured Dancer, a Vampire girl, but events turned out in a way that Seraphim, Alpha of the Cigarettes, found himself on Vampire territory, dragged onward by his own conscience. Mina and Sven, leaders of the Vampires, lost no time in capturing the young Cigarette; brought back to her tribe at Seraphim's own orders, Dancer defied Mina's authority and was stripped of her Hunter rank, and so both Vampire and Cigarette were thrown into the Gargoyle Tower's pits.
Meanwhile, a rescue party from the Cigarettes rises to the occasion, and they set on a suicidal attack on the Vampires' Tower to get their leader back.
Focused on their waging war, the two enemy tribes fail to notice a small mouse scurrying by their feet; crafty and deceiving, the Wharf Rats plan on capturing Vox, the Cigarettes' nurse, all the while placing the blame on the Vampires.
…But even the smallest mouse might not see the new life blooming on the feral Wildcats.
Step on as you may, you are bound to disturb a viper's nest. The true question is – which of them is deadlier?

The Grid (3 sub-boards) The New York grid – formerly, site of traffic jams, protests, gang wars, parties. Now, a bleak expanse of destroyed buildings scattered over the blasted, cracked remains of the tarmac roads. Gutted cars line the road, and burn marks scar the sidewalk. The unearthly creaking of buildings liable to collapse if breathed on fills the air, and the odd smell of clinical chemicals mingles with the remains of the Smokey smell that still hangs around. Most of the Grid is neutral – anyone can walk here, largely unharmed. Anyone caught here is not necessarily trespassing.
Rhymes Square (2 sub-boards) Times Square used to bustle with life – it used to glow like a beacon, full of flashing neon signs and huge LCD screens plastered to walls of buildings. Holograms scattered the sidewalks. Now, most of the light fittings have been stolen to light the tribes' hideouts. The holograms now scare adventurers witless, and the parked hov-cars are now wrecks, burnt out scrap. The children have graffitied ‘Rhymes Square’ over all the street-signs. And, of course, it is Vampire territory. Their bloody-hand mark is everywhere to the trained eye – and anyone walking here is putting themselves in danger.
The Waterfront (5 sub-boards) The wharf, waterfront, docks, harbor – all belong to the illustrious Wharf Rats. This is their home, and any trespassers will be prosecuted. Although most of the boats would sink if you put any weight into them, some are still serviceable. These are used to go fishing, or just to sit out on the water and relax. Old crates are scattered about, most of them smashed in to get at the goods within.
Central Park (4 sub-boards) This is Central Park, or what remains of it. Trees are broken, grass is scorched and there are holes in random places. The remaining trees have either been ripped apart for wood or are piled up with three diagonal lines cut into them with a pocket knife. It's slightly annoying, but makes a perfect base for the Wildcats. Enter their turf and you'll never know if one of them is lurking behind stacks of garbage cans painted with a paw-print or behind a fallen tree.
Ghetto Gospel (1 sub-board) The Ghetto – or what’s left of it, anyway. This is where the Advent Children of Cigarettes first came into the city, though the rather depressing remains of the slums. Mostly shoddy apartment stores and stores with coca-cola funded umbrellas over the tables, this is now no better or worse than the rest of the city. The remains of the ghetto have now been named after the song by Tupac & Elton John - Ghetto Gospel.
Razorwire Wall (3 sub-boards) The Razorwire wall consists of five fences surrounding the city of New York. They run through the middle of some suburbs, around some, and past others. Although they aren’t patrolled, some of the houses or trees next to the wires are liable to be ‘spooked’ – that is to say, they have cameras in them. It is often best to cut through the fences as far away from anything big enough to hide a camera as possible.

Church of Saint Jude Saint Jude – patron said of lost causes. Makes sense his would be the only church structure left intact in the desecrated city of New York. Settled just where the suburbs touch the city, this old, old building features intricate stonework and massive granite figures of angels, demons and gargoyles defending its every flank. Chunks of the building have come loose and lie scattered in the street, but it retains most of its former majestic splendor.
Suburbs The city of New Pork is encircled by a series of five fences – these run mostly through the countryside outside of the city, but sometimes they draw dangerously close to the city – cutting through the suburbs and the industrial areas. These are unclaimed by any clans, but they provide great hunting-grounds if you’re looking for rats, mice, or small birds that nest in the rafters of abandoned houses. The villas and flats are eerie – personal effects left, mostly untouched, in the burnt-out remains of houses.
